Eight Vehicle Burglaries Reported in West Hollywood Between Sept. 9 and 15

Eight vehicle burglaries were reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station between Sept. 9 and 15, a continuation of a long-running trend not only in WeHo but in other affluent communities in Los Angeles. Capt. Edward Ramirez of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station has said that gangs from Northern California have been involved in many of these incidents. What follows is a list of Part 1 (serious) crimes reported to the Sheriff’s Station between Sept. 9 and 15. Sept. 9

Strong Arm Robbery. 8000 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:25 a.m. A woman withdrew money from an ATM and walked back to her vehicle. As she was getting into her vehicle, a man

approached her from behind and pulled her purse from her shoulder. The suspect fled the area east bound on Santa Monica Boulevard. #06042

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Flores Street between 5:10 and 10:55 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #06055

Sept. 10

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 4:15 and 5:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a backpack containing a calculator, books, cell phone, and air pods from the back seat and another backpack containing a wallet, cell phone, ID, duffle bag, shoes, clothing, and cosmetics from the back seat. No sign of forced entry. #06072

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Harper Avenue between 9 p.m. and 6:45 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a bag containing a laptop computer from the front floorboard. #06097

Vehicle Burglary. 700 block Ramage Street between 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. the next day. An unknown suspect smashed the front driver’s side window and the rear driver’s side quarter panel window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #06103

Sept. 12

Grand Theft. 9000 block Sunset Boulevard between 6:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a purse and cash from a drawer in the bedroom. #06114

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 5:45 and 7:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a bag containing a laptop computer from the interior. #06105

Sept. 13

Aggravated Assault – Knife (Suspect Arrested). 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:45 a.m. A woman pulled a knife and threatened employees and security staff after being ejected from the club. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #06110

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 11:45 p.m. and 12:24 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a watch, headphones, wallet, credit cards, and fanny pack from the back seat. #06133

Sept. 14

Armed Robbery. 800 block San Vicente Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. A man was walking in the parking lot when a vehicle pulled up next to him. A man exited the front passenger’s seat and lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked into his waistband. The suspect demanded the victim’s property and he complied. #06135

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 8 and 9:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer, hard drive, and shirt from the trunk. #06149

Sept. 15

Strong Arm Robbery. 700 block West Knoll Drive at 2:38 a.m. A man pulled the victim’s cell phone from her hand and fled the area headed south on West Knoll Drive. #06159

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10:50 and 11:48 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer, camera, and two hard drives from the front seat. #06174
