Assaults and Robberies with a Gun and Knives Reported in WeHo

A list of reported Part 1 (serious) crimes that occurred between Aug. 12 and 18 that was released today by the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station includes an armed robbery involving a gun and several robberies in which the suspects threatened to stab the victims with knives. There also was an incident on Aug. 16 at the Best Western hotel on Sunset Boulevard in which a man who invited two women to his room late that night ended up having them steal $800 in cash from him.

Aug.  12

Armed Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 5:25 p.m. A man removed a bottle of alcohol and left the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect pointed and waved a knife at the victim. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05441

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested). 7900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. A man was looking through his suitcase when the suspect approached him from behind and took a shirt from the suitcase. A struggle ensued, and the victim was cut on his arm with a glass bottle by the suspect. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05459

Aggravated Assault – Knife (Suspect Arrested). 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:15 a.m. A man attempted to stab the victim during an argument while standing on the sidewalk. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05469

Strong Arm Robbery. Robertson Boulevard / Rosewood Avenue at 1:36 p.m. A man was riding a scooter southbound on Robertson Boulevard when the suspect blocked his path and pulled a bag of clothing from his hand. A struggle ensued, and the suspect threatened to stab the victim. The victim allowed the suspect to leave. #05477

Grand Theft. 1100 block La Cienega Boulevard between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a luggage bag containing clothing from the front seat of the unlocked vehicle. #05464

Strong Arm Robbery. 8400 block Sunset Boulevard at 10:45 p.m. Two women removed $800 cash from the victim’s hotel room after being invited inside. The victim tried to stop the suspects from leaving and was threatened by two men associated with the suspects. #05503

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Boulevard between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side door and removed a laptop computer from the back seat. #05498

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a duffel bag containing toiletries from the front seat. #05512

Aggravated Assault – Hands, Fist, Feet (Suspect Arrested). San Vicente Boulevard / Santa Monica Boulevard at 11:50 p.m. A woman was punched twice in the face by a man during an argument over a parking space. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #05533

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Boulevard between 3:30 to 3:50 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a backpack containing two passports and two pairs of sunglasses from the backseat. #05522

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Westmount Drive 3 to 4:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed two backpacks containing passports, sunglasses, wallets, credit cards, clothing, and one laptop computer from the rear floorboard. #05523

Grand Theft. 1300 block Havenhurst Drive between Aug. 17 and 18. An unknown suspect removed tools from the trunk of the unlocked vehicle. #05604

Armed Robbery. 8300 block Willoughby Avenue at 6:20 a.m. A man was walking to his car when two men approached him while armed with a gun and demanded his property. The victim complied, and the suspects ran to an unknown car and fled the area. #05536

Strong Arm Robbery. Santa Monica Boulevard / La Cienega Boulevard at 6:40 a.m. A man was sitting at the bus stop using his cell phone when a man approached him from behind and pulled the cell phone from his hand. #05537

Vehicle Burglary. La Peer Drive / Melrose Avenue between 2 and 4 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a Nintendo switch, books, and flip flops from the back seat. #05548

Vehicle Burglary. Sunset Boulevard / Queens Road between 6:45 and 11:45 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and memory cards from the front seat. #05575
