11 Car Burglaries and Two Armed Robberies Reported in WeHo Last Week

There were 11 car burglaries in West Hollywood from Feb. 11 through 17, the same number reported the week before.  Also of note were two armed robberies.  Those and other serious (Part I) crimes reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station are on the list below.

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 8 and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #00901

Feb. 11

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block North Kings Road between 8:15 and 8:25 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #00902

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 7:30 and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and ransacked the interior but did not take anything. #00903

Vehicle Burglary. 8800 block Beverly Blvd between 10 p.m. and 12:05 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear windshield and removed property from the trunk. #00908

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 7:20 and 8:50 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the front floorboard. #00904

Vehicle Burglary. Laurel Avenue / Santa Monica Blvd between 7:30 and 8 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #00929

 Feb. 12

Other Burglary. 700 block Westbourne Drive at 9:03 p.m. An unknown suspect used a key to gain access to the lobby area and removed two paintings from the wall and a package from the mail room. #00972

Armed Robbery. 7200 block Santa Monica Blvd at 3:13 a.m. Two men parked their vehicle in the alley and were removing items from the trunk of their vehicle when three men approached them while armed with a handgun and demanded their property. The victims complied and the suspects ran to a vehicle and fled the area. #00921

Feb. 13

Grand Theft. 8300 block Santa Monica Blvd between 11:15 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. – A man removed a wallet from the victim’s purse after it was left momentarily unattended in a shopping cart. #00937

Other Burglary. 8900 block Santa Monica Blvd at 10:26 p.m. A man pried the front door open to gain access and removed several bottles of shampoo from a display area. #00952

Strong Arm Robbery. 7700 block Santa Monica Blvd at 9:10 p.m. Three men removed two bottles of liquor and left the store without payment. When confronted in the parking lot, the suspects punched the victim in the face several times and then fled the area. #00951

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Formosa Avenue from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed $5 in coins from the center console. #00966

Feb. 14

Aggravated Assault. 7400 block Santa Monica Blvd between 6:50 and 7 p.m. A man swung a metal chain at the victim after being asked to leave the business. #00973

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Blvd at 1:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s purse while inside the club. #00957

Other Burglary. 500 block Doheny Drive between 1:18 and 1:30 a.m. A man used a crow bar to force the front door open and removed flea medication from a display area. #00961

Feb. 15

Aggravated Assault. 800 block West Knoll Drive at 9:45 p.m. 2145. A man threw barbecue tongs at another man during an argument. The victim was hit on his head but was not injured. #01031

Other Burglary. 8600 block Melrose Avenue from 11 a.m. to 5:05 p.m. An unknown suspect removed cash, blank checks, and two pairs of vintage tennis shoes from the office. No sign of forced entry. #01010

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8300 block Santa Monica Blvd at 4 p.m. A man removed two pints of ice cream and left the store without payment. When confronted by store security, the suspect pushed the victim and kneed him in the stomach in an attempt to escape. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #00987

Armed Robbery. 7300 block Santa Monica Blvd at 8 a.m. A man was walking his dog when a man approached him while armed with a knife and demanded his property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the area on foot. #01032

Vehicle Burglary. Melrose Avenue / San Vicente Blvd between 8:15 and 11 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from underneath from front seat. #00996

Vehicle Burglary. Hilldale Avenue / Sunset Blvd between 9:55 p.m. and 1:55 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and ransacked the interior. The victim was unsure if any items were taken. #01001

Feb. 16

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Robertson Blvd between 1:30 and 5 p.m. An unknown suspect pushed the driver’s side window down to gain access and removed property from the back seat. #01011

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Santa Monica Blvd between 10:15 and 10:40 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #01019

  1. Lights, Cameras, Action. We need more lights in residential neighborhoods, many more cameras with warning signs and much more deputy action (patrol). You think this is bad wait until the train brings more crime and hate crime to WEHO

    1. YES!!! and given the overall wealth of the community, why is this Still an issue?

      And where are the witnesses on the busier streets? (Not off-streets like Westbourne, but rather: Santa Monica Blvd and Melrose Ave?
