The Car Burglars Are Back in West Hollywood

Apparently the car burglars are back. After a several week-long drop in vehicle burglaries, the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station reports 14 last week. Three of those involved thefts from unlocked cars. And then there was that Rolex stolen by a woman who was invited into a man’s hotel room at night.

The list below is of serious (Part 1) crimes reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station during the week of Oct. 22 to Oct. 28.

Oct. 23

Grand Theft. 600 block Westmount Drive at 10 a.m. A women cashed a check from her employer that did not belong to her. #07024

Grand Theft. 7700 block Norton Avenue at 11 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the trunk and center console of the unlocked vehicle. #07058

Armed Robbery. Fairfax Avenue / Santa Monica Blvd at 10:10 a.m. While holding a screwdriver in his hand, a man approached another man and demanded the tote bag he was holding. The victim complied. #06997

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Blvd between 4 and 5:15 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #07007

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Sunset Blvd between 7:30 and 11:10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #07013

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Sunset Blvd at 11:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the interior. #07014

Vehicle Burglary. Sherbourne Drive / Sunset Blvd between 10:45 and 11:45 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #07015

Oct. 24

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Sunset Blvd between 7:30 and 8:55 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed property from the trunk. #07033

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Sunset Blvd between 7 and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect used an open window to gain access and removed property from the front and back seats. #07034

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Sunset Blvd between 6:30 and 9 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed property from the front seat. #07035

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Blvd at 7:30 p.m. A man smashed the rear driver’s side window and the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the back seat. #07029

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Blvd at 7:30 p.m. A man smashed the rear driver’s side window and pushed the back seat down to expose the trunk but did not take anything. #07030

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Blvd at 7:30 p.m. A man smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed property from the rear floorboard. #07031

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Blvd between 10 and 11:10 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. #07038

Oct. 25

Grand Theft (Suspect Arrested). 8200 block Sunset Blvd at 6:48 p.m. A man removed a purse from a table and fled the area on foot. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect and recovered the purse. #07056

Grand Theft. 8400 block Sunset Blvd between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. A women removed a Rolex watch after being invited into the victim’s hotel room. #07067

Grand Theft. 1000 block North Sierra Bonita Avenue between 7:45 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the back seat of the unlocked vehicle. #07078

Oct. 26

Grand Theft. 1200 block Spaulding Avenue between 2 and 3:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the back seat and trunk of the unlocked vehicle. #07098

Residential Burglary (suspects arrested). 1200 block Fuller Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Two men broke the front gate deadbolt and smashed a patio window to gain entrance to the residence. Responding deputies located and arrested both men inside the residence. #07077

Residential Burglary 8700 block Rosewood Avenue between 11 p.m. and 3 p.m. An unknown suspect cut the window screen and smashed the rear bedroom window to gain access and ransacked the interior. The suspect removed jewelry, clothing, and shoes from the bedroom and living room. #07099

Oct. 27

Residential Burglary (suspects arrested). 1200 block Fuller Avenue at 11:42 p.m. Two men used an unlocked bedroom window to gain access. Responding deputies located and arrested both men inside the residence. #07110

Oct. 28

Aggravated Assault. 8900 block Sunset Blvd at 1:10 a.m. A women hit a man in the face with a glass cup during an argument inside the bar. The victim suffered a cut that required stitches. #07114
