For those of you who missed it this weekend (and that apparently was most of you, given the small turnout), WEHOville is offering comedian and videographer Ben Kawaller’s take on the Saturday display of the Baby Trump balloon in West Hollywood Park to supplement the news story published that day.
West Hollywood’s display of the Baby Trump balloon was one of six in cities around the country – an example, as Mayor John Duran put it, of our city’s position as the “epicenter of resistance” to Donald Trump.
The display at noon on Saturday was attended by about three dozen residents and slightly more city employees and public safety workers. Also present, in addition to Duran, were City Councilmember Lauren Meister and registered nurse and drag queen Jackie OMG (aka Jack Cline) and his/her partner Eric Jon Schmidt, both declared candidates in the March 2019 City Council election.
This is so sad in so many different ways. But kinda funny.
Very well done Ben, Please do more like this . We need to laugh more in West Hollywood and around the world. The kid at the end was great!
