Sexual Assault Awareness Campaign Takes to WeHo Streets

Participants in the “Only Yes Means Yes” campaign on Santa Monica Boulevard on Sunday.

Wondering what those signs being carried on the sidewalks yesterday were all about? Community activists and public safety officers took to West Hollywood streets yesterday to reach out to the public to raise awareness about sexual assault.

The “Only Yes Means Yes” campaign is meant to both encourage people to be more aware of sexual assault and to promote a message of consent. Outreach team participants include members of West Hollywood City Council, West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station officers; Block by Block security ambassadors and the city’s Women’s Advisory Board and Public Safety Commission.
