At approximately 3:50 p.m. today West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported traffic collision at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Havenhurst Drive.

A black Chevrolet Suburban broadsided a white Infinity sedan, which ended up on the sidewalk of the northwest corner of the intersection.

The driver of the white sedan was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. The West Hollywood Sheriff’s station is handling the investigation.

  1. Perhaps it would be a good idea to make the speed limit on Fountain 25 mph. With no restricted turn signage and excessive speeding day and night, except when traffic is jammed, this is a hazardous situation getting worse with impetuous drivers glued to their phones.

Implementing a speed change and motorcycle cope may be the only deterrent. The current flashing speed sign is of little consequence, folks speed past.

  2. @ K Carter:

OUCH! Please get a petition together and present it to the City Council and Transportation Dept. Quickest way to action…….”many signatures”.

  3. I live on that corner and there is a car crash pretty much weekly. But the city won’t take any action. I guess someone will have to die first.

Forget about what Bette Davis said.

That was quite a crash yesterday to hear from 2 blocks away apparently someone cutting across Fountain or making a turn on to Havenhurst.

  5. People in this town drive way too fast. I used to take Fountain from home to work in Hollywood but I got sick and tired of idiots in their over-sized SUV’s driving anywhere from 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit. There isn’t much room on Fountain to compensate for these people if one is to avoid an accident.

  6. walk on fountain? never unless you have a deathwish. what has been done about this since d’amico’s forum in february? nothing but more tragedy and near misses.
