Intoxicated Man Gets Punched, Loses $180,000 Ring in WeHo’s Boystown

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from April 17 to 23. The list also includes each case number.

April 17

Grand Theft. 8600 Block Melrose Avenue between at 1 and 1:30 p.m. A man removed a purse from a tabletop while the victim was eating. Loss $2,500. #01980

April 18

Residential Burglary. 7700 Block Fountain Avenue at 2 p.m. A man used an unlocked bedroom window to gain access to the bedroom. The suspect was confronted by the resident immediately after making entry and a short struggle ensued. The suspect fled the area on foot. The victim and suspect know each other. #01993

Grand Theft. 1300 Block Laurel Avenue. Between 10 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and books from the rear floorboard area and sunglasses from the center console of an unlocked vehicle. Loss $2,400. #02017

Vehicle Burglary. 7700 Block Santa Monica Boulevard at 8:28 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a briefcase from the back seat. Loss $800. #02012

Vehicle Burglary. Orange Grove Avenue / Santa Monica Boulevard between 3 and 11:15 pm. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a backpack from the back seat. Loss $240. #02014

April 20

April 21

Grand Theft. 7800 Block Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:30 pm. A man removed a cell phone and cash from a purse that was left momentarily unattended in a shopping cart. Loss $1,900. #02046

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 Block Larrabee Street between 2 p.m. and 8 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger’s side windows and removed two duffel bags containing shoes and electronics from the back seat. Loss $700. #02051

April 22

Strong Arm Robbery. 8800 Block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:10 a.m. A man was leaving a club when he was confronted by another man and punched in the face. The suspect took a ring from the victim’s finger and left the area. The victim was heavily intoxicated, waited to report the incident and was unable to remember details of the incident. Loss $180,000. #02050

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 Block Horn Avenue between 2 and 5 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a wallet from the front seat. Loss $400. #02053

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 Block Hacienda Place between 9 p.m. and 11 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front driver’s side window and removed a jacket from the front seat and sunglasses from the center console. Loss $550. #02068

The quality of life in weho is going down the tubes. Mostly because we are a sanctuary city for homeless mental cased, addicts and hobos. This place will be unliveable in 5 years. Hope to God I’m gone by then.

the westside of the city also has more transients than ever. They outnumber pedestrians some times of the day.
ANd who is stupid enough to wear a 180k ring out to the santa monica blvd bars, much less get blackout while wearing it?!?

What a Hell hole, Crime ridden dump. Our oh so safe and charming little hamlet? Gimme a break. Never mind the violent hooker, meth messes populating Plummer Park and terrorizing residents on the Eastside. And what the f*** is going with more and more tent cities popping up everywhere!!!??? But oh no! The clueless clowns had to spend a million dollars on your grand freaking staircase in West Hollywood Park.
