West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies reportedly are searching for Abdulla Tario Camran as a possible suspect in the murder of Joie Kinney, whose body was found on Wednesday in a garbage dumpster on Beverly Boulevard.

Lt. David Smith of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station said he couldn’t confirm the identity of any suspect because the investigation is ongoing. However insiders told WEHOville that deputies are looking for Camran, a homeless man who has been seen often in West Hollywood. A reader emailed WEHOville to say that Camran’s ID card was found in the dumpster.

The body of Kinney, 28, a West Hollywood resident, was found in the dumpster after someone working in a building nearby alerted the Sheriff’s station to the presence of a suspicious character. The dumpster sits behind the now-closed Dominick’s restaurant near the intersection of Beverly and Sherbourne.

Camran, 29, apparently was charged in San Diego in 2014 with making a threat of death or great bodily injury and cruelty to animals in 2014. The resolution of those charges is unclear.

Anyone with information about the Kinney murder is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), or texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or by using the Crime Stoppers website.

Considering that his personal information is not valid address etc. do you think that it is a violation and since he IS the killer, don’t you think anything and everything should be used to catch him , since he is ALSO a COWARD! This police did not leak it, and public citizens can do whatever they want . Let me ask you this , if it was YOUR family member , would you be worried about he murderer’s privacy?

Aren’t there privacy issues being ignored here? If this man, Abdulla Tario Camran, is an apparent ‘person of interest’, why is his address, birth date, and personal info being revealed publicly here? He has not been named a suspect or “wanted” by law enforcement. What if he’s NOT involved in this case? Exposing someone’s personal info in this way is wreckless, an invasion of privacy, leaves them open to identity theft, harrassment, etc.

This is painful to live through. I hope that this article doesn’t make him go deeper into hiding. I hope the article prompts someone to turn him in.

When I first heard about this I really hoped that the seemingly harmless bearded homeless guy who practically lives on that section of Beverly wasn’t involved – glad to hear that he isn’t, most likely.

Um…anyone else terrified that there is a homeless person roaming the streets of West Hollywood who is also a suspect in a local murder?

Also, it appears as though this is an ID card, not a driver’s license. Not that that makes any difference.

If he is a suspect, and his driver’s license was in the dumpster, I find it a little infuriating that a reader had to alert this publication. This poor woman was found a few days ago. Any information that could lead to an arrest should be out to the public ASAP. But I might be jumping to conclusions here. Perhaps the LASD doesn’t consider him a suspect, or have already interviewed him, or something.
