tennis-balls-and-racketsIn partnership with a firm called iTennis, the City of West Hollywood is offering a range of tennis programs at Plummer Park and West Hollywood Park.

The programming will include court rentals, private lessons and group clinics, tennis camps for kids during school breaks, US Tennis Association leagues, tournaments and and open house community events. Other services to be offered by iTennis include ball machine rental and string repair.

Private, semi-private and group tennis lessons also will be available. Per-class prices are expected to be as low as $20 an hour per person for group classes.

Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd., has seven lighted tennis courts and a small pro-shop where tennis-related services are offered to the community. West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd., has three newly constructed lighted tennis courts on the rooftop of its five-story public parking garage.

The tennis programming will be managed by iTennis owner and founder John Letts, who is a former collegiate and touring tennis professional and has coached thousands of tennis players of all ages and abilities from small children to adult professionals. As a player, Letts competed in main draws of all four Grand Slams – Wimbledon, the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open.

The tennis programs will be administered day-to-day by Ana Gasparyan, a Russian-speaking tennis professional, who will serve as Director of Tennis. Gasparyan has played with the Armenian team for the Federation Cup, and she recently coached a local high-school team to a league championship.
