Evelyn McDonnell will discuss and sign her new book “Queens of Noise” at Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Blvd. and Holloway. McDonnell chronicles the history of the Runaways, one of the first female rock bands to gain major success and popularity. In four years, teenagers Joan Jett, Sandy West, Cherrie Currie, Lita Ford, Jackie Fox and Vicky Blue released four major albums, toured the world and opened the door for female bands to follow. The book draws from interviews with band members and their manager. The event is free and open to the public.
