As he is known to do, H.R. (Human Rights) is breaking away from his hardcore punk band Bad Brains (where he is lead singer) to put on a solo effort at Whisky a Go Go.
Often his solo performances are more mellow reggae than the punk/metal offered up by his band.
Village Voice has described his sound as “like James Brown gone berserk, with a hyperkinetic repertoire of spins, dives, back-flips, splits, and skanks.”
Tickets are $13. The show starts at 7 p.m.
