Six people were injured this morning — four critically — in a two-car crash on Melrose Avenue between North Vista and North Gardner streets.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said the crash, which involved a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Prius carrying passengers for Uber, was reported just before 6 a.m. She said firefighters used hydraulic jaws to free the four if the six people in the vehicles. The three women and three men, all in their late 20’s to early 30’s, were transported to local area trauma centers. The man driving the Mercedes attempted to flee the scene and was arrested and booked on a felony charge of driving under the influence.

Earlier this morning, just before 4 a.m., a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Corolla collided at the intersection of Fountain and LaBrea avenues at the West Hollywood border. Los Angeles City Fire Department, Los Angeles Police Department and West Hollywood Sheriff officers responded to the scene. The Toyota was on the sidewalk of the northeast corner of the intersection and the occupant of that vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Mercedes Benz appeared uninjured. The video above is by Jim Garrecht / ANG News.

any schmuck can lease a Mercedes for $400. a month. You don’t have to be rich. In fact, it’s quite common to drive a Mercedes or MBW.

At 2:30 am, Jan. 2, there was a heavy sheriff, fire and ambulance response on Palm Avenue between Cynthia and Santa Monica Blvd. I called local Sheriff line for information and was told only, “there is no need for your concern.” Hope Wehoville can share other details when available.

The Sheriff’s station says it was a response to an apparent drug overdose.

Weird, both accidents Mercedes versus Toyotas. I know it’s speculation, but dollars to donuts the Mercedes drivers were at fault. Spoiled, drunk rich kids. Sounds like Lady Diana’s story all over again.
