Could “Pod Save America” save America?
The podcast is produced by the ironically named Crooked Media out of its headquarters, which The New York Times describes as “a few bargain-priced rooms on La Cienega in a seedy section of West Hollywood, cater-corner to a lingerie shop and across the street from a strip club.”

The New York Times story chronicles the efforts of Jon Favreau, a West Hollywood resident who was for eight years Obama’s chief speechwriter, and other members of the communications team including Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor and Dan Pfieffer along with Tanya Somanader, director of digital rapid response in the Obama White House, and others from Crooked Media’s WeHo headquarters.
Crooked Media now has six other podcasts, its “Pod Save America” tour has sold out at theaters in seven cities. And The Times notes that another podcast exec guesses the twice-weekly “Pod Save America” is bring in at least $50,000 in advertising revenue for each episode.
