WeHo Vehicle Burglaries Last Week Cost More Than $20,000 in Loss and Damages

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from Aug. 21 to Aug. 27. The list includes each case number.

August 21

Grand Theft. 8300 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:30 p.m. A man placed 26 pieces of clothing into a bag he was carrying and left the store without payment. Loss $980. #04497

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Norwich Drive between 4 and 4:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a watch, cash, and sunglasses from the center console. No sign of forced entry. Loss $5,600. #04517

Aggravated Assault – Knife. 8700 block Sherwood Drive
at 7:30 a.m. A man was walking west bound on Sherwood Drive when he had an argument with two homeless men who were sitting outside of a vacant house. The victim walked by the location again a short time later and one of the men threw a tree saw at him. #04507

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard
between 2 and 2:45 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a computer bag containing a laptop computer and wallet from under the front passenger seat. No sign of forced entry. Loss $04521

August 23

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Hacienda Place between 11 p.m and 8:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the driver’s side corner window and ransacked the vehicle. No items were taken. Loss $300 (window). #04545

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block La Brea Avenue at 9:28 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger’s side window and removed a leather bag containing a ring and cash from the front seat. Loss $900. #04565

August 24

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 1100 block North Fairfax Avenue at 9:47 p.m. A homeless man removed money from the tip jar and attempted to leave the store. When confronted by an employee, the suspect shoved the victim and left the store. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. Loss $22 (recovered). #04558

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Clinton Avenue between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer, headphones, and cash from the back seat. Loss $2,900. #04562

August 25

Aggravated Assault – Knife. 1000 block North La Brea Avenue
at 10:50 a.m. A man removed earphones from a shelf and attempted to leave the store without payment. When confronted by security, the suspect threw the earphones on the ground and left the location. The suspect came back into the store a few minutes later armed with a knife and confronted the victim inside of the store. The suspect threatened to kill the victim and walked towards him in an aggressive manner. #04567

Grand Theft. 1100 block Larrabee Street at 12:18 p.m. A man removed several pieces of art and furniture from the residence after agreeing to sell the items for the victim. After taking the items, the victim has been unable to contact the suspect. Loss $60,000. #04576

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block N Genesee Avenue between 9 and 10:40 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a bag containing a laptop computer from the back seat. Loss $500. #04568

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between at 4 and 4:45 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a camera bag containing a camera, lens, and microphone from the back seat. Loss $2,250. #04577

Vehicle Burglary. Melrose Avenue / Norwich Avenue between 9 and 10:35 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a leather bag containing hair styling equipment and makeup from the back seat. Loss $4,800. #04583

August 26

Other Burglary (Attempt). 600 block North Robertson Boulevard between Aug. 26 and 28.. An unknown suspect broke the window and bent the metal window bars in an attempt to gain entry but was unsuccessful. Loss $1,000 (window and metal bars). #04624

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10:41 and 11:28 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer from the rear floorboard. Loss $2,000. #04597

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Croft Avenue between 4:30 and 10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and cracked the front passenger side window and ransacked the vehicle. At the time of the report, the victim was unsure if any items were taken. Loss $800. #04605
