A man walking across Sunset Boulevard near Harper Avenue early this morning was hit by a car whose driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
The collision happened around 3 a.m. Deputies, who happened to be nearby, responded immediately and Sunset was closed for a while between the Chateau Marmont and its intersection with Sweetzer Avenue.
The pedestrian, who was pinned under the car, was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was determined to be in stable condition. The driver of the car also was taken to the hospital.
