$16,000 in Car Burglaries in WeHo Last Week

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from May 15 to 21. The list also includes each case number.

May 15

Grand Theft. Sherwood Drive / Westbourne Drive at 5:30 a.m. A woman was walking westbound on Sherwood Drive when a man approached her from behind and pulled a shopping bag from her hand. The bag contained a watch, clothing, cash, and a camera. The suspect fled the area on foot. Loss $3,600. #02511

Burglary – Other. 1200 block Flores Street between 5 and 11:45 am. An unknown suspect removed four tires and wheels from a vehicle parked in the sub garage. Loss $7,800. #02525

May 17

Burglary – Other. 1200 block La Brea Avenue at 11:20 p.m. A man removed two bottles of wine while the restaurant was closing. Loss $96. #02549

Burglary – Residential (Suspect Arrested). 1000 block Edinburgh Avenue (Attempt) at 12:29 a.m. A man used force on the front door in an attempt to gain entry. The resident heard the noise at the front door and contacted the Sheriff’s Station. Deputies responded, located, and arrested the suspect. Loss $10,000 (broken door). #02550

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between noon and 12:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and moved but did not take an empty backpack from the back seat. Loss $400 (window). #02539

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Sunset Boulevard between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window. No items were taken. Loss $350. #02580

Vehicle Burglary. 7700 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 9 and 9:10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a laptop, iPad, and computer bag from the back seat. Loss $4,600. #02586

Vehicle Burglary. 8900 block Melrose Avenue between 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear window and removed a duffle bag containing clothing from the back seat and a duffle bag containing clothing and cosmetics from the rear storage area. Loss $900. #02594

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue between 9 and 11:50 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and searched the vehicle but did not take anything. Loss $400 (window). #02595

Vehicle Burglary. 9000 block Melrose Avenue between 11:45 p.m. and 3 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a backpack. Loss $450. #02596

Vehicle Burglary. 7500 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer from the front floorboard area. Loss $1,150. #02599

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Spaulding Avenue between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and attempted to remove a shelf from the backseat but was unsuccessful. Loss $400 (window). #02600

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Holloway Drive between 5 and 12:50 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a key fob from the center console. No sign of forced entry. Loss $500. #02608

Vehicle Burglary. Stanley Avenue / Santa Monica Boulevard between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a laptop computer from the back seat. Loss $2,158. #02637

May 20

Grand Theft. 8900 block Beverly Boulevard between 5:15 and 5:23 p.m. A man and three women removed four purses from a display area and left the store without payment. Loss $4,000. #02605

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8500 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:10 am. A man was sitting outside eating dinner when two men walked up to his table and demanded his money. The victim refused and was punched in the face. Both suspects fled the area east bound n Santa Monica. Responding deputies located and arrested one of the suspects; the other suspect is still outstanding. #02588

Vehicle Burglary. 9000 block Melrose Avenue between 12:20 and 1:15 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a laptop computer, tablet computer, and a gold chain from the back seat. Loss $5,000. #02590

May 21

Strong Arm Robbery. 8600 block Sunset Boulevard at 10:15 a.m. A man entered the business and asked patrons for gas money. The suspect became upset when nobody offered him money and he began to yell at the customers. The suspect removed $55 cash from a customer’s wallet and left the store. Deputies responded, located and arrested the suspect. #02622

Strong Arm Robbery. 900 Block Harper Avenue at 4:54 p.m. A woman was walking south bound on Harper when a man approached her from behind and tried to pull her purse from her shoulder. The victim held on to her purse and a struggle ensued, during which the victim fell to the ground and lost control of her purse. The suspect took the purse and ran from the area. Loss $200. #02632
