Inattentive Car Owners Lost $24,800 to Burglars Last Week

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from May 8 to 14. The list also includes each case number.

May 8

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Formosa Avenue between 8:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front driver’s side window and ransacked the interior. No items were taken. Loss $200 (window). #02384

May 9

Grand Theft. 700 block Huntley Drive at 2:30 a.m. A woman removed a Rolex watch after being invited to the residence by the victim. Loss $16,000. #02387

Burglary – Other. 8700 block Ashcroft Avenue between 3:45 p.m. and 8:06 a.m. An unknown suspect broke the gate lock to gain access to a construction site and removed power tools and a tool box. Loss $3,000. #02400

crime, west hollywood sheriff's stationBurglary – Residential (Suspect Arrested). 1100 Block Formosa Avenue at 7:10 p.m. A man used force on the front door in an attempt to gain entry but was unsuccessful. The resident heard the noise at the front door and contacted the Sheriff’s Station. Deputies responded, located and arrested the suspect. #02392

Vehicle Burglary. Almont Drive / Rangley Avenue between 11:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed sunglasses from the center console, athletic equipment from the back seat and food from the trunk area. Loss $965. #02382

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Robertson Boulevard between 9:50 and 11:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger’s side windows and removed a backpack containing jewelry and an iPhone from the front floorboard. Loss $9,800. #02395

Vehicle Burglary. West Knoll Drive / Melrose Avenue between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and rear windshield and removed a purse containing jewelry from underneath the passenger’s seat and clothing from the rear storage area. Loss $2,800. #02396

May 10

Burglary – Locker. 8500 block Sunset Boulevard between 11:30 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. An unknown suspect removed two credit cards from the victim’s gym locker. No sign of forced entry. Loss $60. #02407

Vehicle Burglary. 7500 block Norton Avenue between 7 p.m. and 8:40 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a set of golf clubs from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. Loss $1,800. #02419

May 11

Burglary – Residential. 1200 block Havenhurst Drive at 11:56 p.m. The victim was sitting in his kitchen when a man opened an unlocked rear door and walked into the residence. The victim yelled at the suspect and began to push him out the door. As the suspect was being pushed from the residence, he pepper sprayed the victim. #02415

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 5:45 and 5:52 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and sunglasses from the front floorboard area. Loss $2,800. #02429

May 12

Vehicle Burglary. 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 5:40 and 6:10 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a duffle bag containing clothing from the back seat. Loss $850. #02453

Vehicle Burglary. Santa Monica Boulevard / Spaulding Avenue between noon and 4 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a laptop computer from underneath the front seat. Loss $1,600. #02470

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Greenacre Avenue between May 12 and May 14. An unknown suspect removed a guitar, guitar pedal board, and golf clubs from the rear cargo area. No sign of forced entry. Loss $4,000. #02508

May 13

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:17 a.m. The victim was standing outside of the club when he was hit in the face with a bottle thrown by a male suspect. The victim was intoxicated and unable to provide details of the incident. #02461
