Dining Out For Life Happens This Thursday!

People across L.A. County can support those living with HIV/AIDS in their community by enjoying a meal at one of their favorite restaurants

APLA Health asks you to dine with us this Thursday, April 27, and help fight AIDS by participating in Dining Out For Life. This national event that has returned to the City of Angels for the first time in six years, and proceeds from the evening will support the services APLA Health and Project Angel Food provide to those living with HIV/AIDS in L.A. County.More than two dozen Los Angeles-area restaurants will donate a portion of their day’s receipts (up to 50%) to APLA Health and Project Angel Food, which provide critically needed health care and social support services to tens of thousands of people across the County every year, including medical and health care services, HIV prevention and testing, groceries, nutrition education, meals, and much more.The restaurants participating this year include:

APLA Health’s mission is to achieve health care equity and promote well-being for the LGBT and other underserved communities and people living with and affected by HIV. We are a nonprofit, federally qualified health center serving more than 14,000 people annually. We provide 20 different services from 14 locations throughout Los Angeles County, including: medical, dental, and behavioral health care; PrEP counseling and management; health education and HIV prevention; and STD screening and treatment. For people living with HIV, we offer housing support; benefits counseling; home health care; and the Vance North Necessities of Life Program food pantries; among several other critically needed services. Project Angel Food is Los Angeles’ leading nonprofit provider of nutritional meals and counseling for people living with serious illnesses, such as cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and renal failure. Born in response to the AIDS crisis, today Project Angel Food provides its vital services for people suffering across a spectrum of critical diagnoses and reflecting the county’s diverse demographics. Project Angel Food clients, homebound and often living alone, are unable to shop and cook for themselves, and rely on Project Angel Food as a vital lifeline of nourishment and hope.
