El Tovar Place is Closed For WeHo Park Construction

As of today El Tovar Place, the short roadway between San Vicente and Robertson boulevards just south of West Hollywood Park, is closed while construction continues on the park.

West Hollywood Library and its adjacent five-story public parking garage will remain open and accessible from San Vicente Boulevard throughout construction, and parking is free for one hour in the garage.

The library parking garage will be closed to public access, starting March 20 for approximately five months in order to maintain public safety during reinforcement work for the new construction and to add more parking at that location. Public parking will continue to be available in the adjacent five-story public parking garage.

The city already has begun construction on the forthcoming Aquatic and Recreation Center. Safety fencing has been added to impacted areas, and West Hollywood Park will remain open throughout construction. Every existing park facility will continue to be open until after each new improvement is completed and available.

Construction at West Hollywood Park is anticipated to last for approximately three years, through early 2020. Construction fences will ensure safety in and around construction areas and large expanses of the park will remain open for use. All area businesses remain open as usual.

The Aquatic and Recreation Center, when completed, will feature two rooftop swimming pools and a multi-sport court that will accommodate a variety of sports such as basketball, volleyball, and dodgeball. It will also feature five community meeting rooms and one conference room, recreation staff offices, a Tiny Tot program classroom, a public access television studio, lockers, and additional parking. Park improvements will add small and large dog parks, expanded green spaces, updated children’s playgrounds, and an AIDS Monument.

OMG !! no parking for 5 months??? in an area already having parking issues. there are already insufficient parking in the area. are the businesses in the area aware of this? some businesses in the area already are having problems making ends meet and now with the limited parking the customers will be even more limited. This could be fatal for a lot of small businesses/ restaurants/ bars in the area.
