Car Hits Fire Hydrant, Closing Fountain Avenue

A car crashed into a fire hydrant this morning at the intersection of Fountain and Sweetzer avenues.

L.A. County fire fighters arrived to water shooting into the air and an Audi in the bushes at the northwest corner of the intersection. According to bystanders there didn’t appear to be any injuries. Fountain Avenue was closed to traffic briefly while fire fighters shut off the water and the car was removed.

Doesn’t surprise me. Cars go 50 mph and higher down Fountain Ave. in the morning. I live right there and see it every day. Many other accidents too. Not sure why they don’t have more officers in that area to control and ticket these speeders. It’s a recipe for disaster.
