Home to Hipsters, WeHo’s The Mansion Is a Major Draw for German YouTube Viewers

Sprechen Sie Deutsch? If the answer is “nein” you probably haven’t been following “The Mansion,” a daily YouTube series about a group of young German hipsters living in West Hollywood.

The Mansion is a daily series from Berlin-based media giant ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s multi-channel network Studio71. According to StreamDaily it is the fastest-growing YouTube channel in Germany. More than 165,000 people have subscribed to the YouTube series since its launch on June 7, and the videos have been viewed two million times.

The Mansion doesn’t reveal the exact location of the house that the young men and woman are sharing (there’s some evidence that it is just outside West Hollywood near the Beverly Center, but the show brags that it is located in WeHo.) They include some of Germany’s biggest online personalities such as Gronkh (Erik Range) and Sarazar (Valentin Rahmel). Other residents include RobBubble and the Circle of Alchemists, a group of electronic musicians. DJ Flula, popular in both the United States and Germany, is slated to move in soon.

The Mansion is a modern home with two stories and a large swimming pool that the German visitors spend a lot of time in, although without managing to get a tan. From the Mansion they embark on excursions across Los Angeles, paying videoed visits to Beverly Hills, Paramount Studios and other places.

Soon The Mansion will release an English-language version, and it will add to its cast Steven Williams, a YouTube gamer known as Boogie2988 who has more than one million Facebook fans. Williams will be the first American to appear on the series. However, he will be a virtual guest, remaining at his home in Arkansas.

Fortunately this house is NOT in the City of West Hollywood. It is just east of San Vicente in the Beverly Center/Beverly Grove area of the City of Los Angeles.

I don’t speak german but in the video above I think one of the “cast” members says…..”look across the street, it’s another “Big Box” house just like ours!”

The answer is “nein” if you don’t ‘sprechen sie deutsch?” not nicht. Just what Weho needs are more international self-important douche bags.

More evidence of WeHo getting attention as the prime place to visit if heading to the LA Metro area:
