The Los Angeles Volleyball Organization (LAVO) opened registration today for its spring season. LAVO is registering teams for the season online through Feb. 28. The season starts Mar. 1 and ends May 16.
LAVO, conceived in 2010, has grown to over 1,000 players. It hosts open play games (the next is at 10 a.m. tomorrow at West Hollywood Park Auditorium, 647 N San Vicente Blvd. south of Santa Monica). It also stages tryouts for players looking for a team to join. The next one of those is Friday at 7 p.m. at Fairfax High School, 7850 Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. Players looking for a team to join for the Gold Rush Tournament on Mar. 9 or the Spring Challenge IV Tournament on Apr. 12 can post notice of their interest online.
