53-Unit Apartment Complex Proposed for 1250 Fairfax Ave. in WeHo

A new five-story, 53-unit apartment complex will be going up at 1250 Fairfax Ave., just south of Fountain Avenue. Designed by Santa Monica-based architect Christian Robert of R&A Architecture and Design, the structure will have four separate buildings built around a courtyard with overhead walkways connecting the buildings. A rooftop pool and gym will be included in the southern-most building, which is four stories tall. The complex will have one-, two- and three-bedroom units, 12 of which will be set aside for low- and moderate income residents; the rest will be market rate.

Oak Coast Properties, which has about 1,000 apartments throughout California, is developing the site, which will take up three lots, replacing a 16-unit courtyard building, a 12-unit building and a single-family home. The project is scheduled to go before the West Hollywood Planning Commission’s design review subcommittee early in 2014 and before the full Planning Commission in March. Construction is expected to start in fall 2014 and be completed by late 2015 or early 2016.
