NBA free agent Jason Collins, who revealed he is gay in April, took the field with the Varsity Gay kickball league Sunday. Collins, 34, subbed in for the Authority.
“His tall legs sure kicked the heck out of the ball,” said league founder Will Hackner.
This season, Varsity Gay League (VGL) is running two kickball leagues: the Saturday Rock ‘n’ Roll league, meant as a training ground for new players, and a Sunday Champions League.
