West Hollywood Chamber Announces 2013 Creative City Nominees

The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced 18 nominees for six categories in the 30th annual Creative City Awards competition, which will honor retired Beverly Hills attorney Nathan Goller with a lifetime achievement award.

Chamber members will determine the winners, who will be announced Thursday, Nov. 14 at the London West Hollywood.

Nominees for the awards, which focus on innovation in business, are:

CREATIVE CONCEPT AWARD

Awarded to a business that is an innovator of a cool new concept, product or service.

Tortilla Republic, Revolver Video Bar and DiLascia (Formerly Par-LA).

CORPORATE INNOVATION AWARD

[hr]

Awarded to a business in any category that has shown creative innovation in its corporate business model.

Innovative Dining Group (IDG), Rock N’ Reilly’s, Reps Direct and Tommy Hilfiger.

JOHN CHASE ART AND DESIGN AWARD

[hr]

Awarded to a business that falls into the categories of art, performance art, fashion, design, architecture or any other creative arts realm.

The Cedars-Sinai Landscape Project, Gerald David Bauman-Nobel Shield & Box of Rocks and Marco Pelusi Hair Studio.

CREATIVE COMMUNICATIONS AWARD

Awarded to a business within public relations, marketing, branding, televisual arts, copyrighting, technology, social media, graphic design, writing etc.

Clear Channel Outdoor, Valentine Group Public Relations, Tri Source International and Visionary Digital Enterprises.

WEHO BEACON AWARD

[hr]

Awarded to a business that attracts visitors to West Hollywood or caters to the visitor and tourism market.

Sunset Tower Hotel, The Rainbow Bar and Grill and the Troubadour.

CREATIVE COMMUNITY SERVICE

[hr]

Awarded to a business or individual who, working with a non-profit or as a government official, has made a major contribution to the community.

Capitol Drugs, Cardiff Giant and Hornburg Sunset.

Goller will be honored with the Thomas Crail Lifetime Achievement Award .

In 1956, Goller married design entrepreneur Phyllis Morris who had a small lamp manufacturing company which became so successful that in 1963 Goller and Morris formally formed Phyllis Morris Originals and started manufacturing a line of furniture. Morris ran the company from the design, marketing and production end and Goller was involved in the financial aspects of the company. Goller, also a significant property stakeholder in WeHo, retired from practicing law last year.

Comedian Shawn Pelofsky will emcee the event, which will raise funds for the chamber. The event begin at 6 p.m. with a reception and silent auction, followed by a dinner and the awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $175 per seat and $1,600 for a table of 10.
