West Hollywood City Councilmember John D’Amico, who has maintained silence on the subject of term limits for city council members, says he supports such limits. D’Amico, speaking with WEHOville on Friday, said he hadn’t made a lot of noise about his support for term limits because he didn’t want to get involved in the already contentious campaign for two City Council seats. D’Amico was elected to the council in 2011. Incumbents John Duran and Jeffrey Prang, who have served 12 and 16 years on the council respectively, are running for re-election against seven challengers. Duran opposed term limits last summer. But early this year he added his name to a petition that required the City Council to put term limits on the March 5 ballot. The term limits proposal, known as Measure C, is not retroactive and would bar council members from serving more than three four-year terms.
