Quitcha bitchin’ about the $1,700 rent you pay for that 500 square foot apartment in WeHo. When you read the Wall Street Journal’s story today (Nov. 16) about Rick Caruso’s 8500 Burton Way apartment building, you’ll realize what a bargain you have. 8500 Burton Way, named for the address, sits near La Cienega just a few blocks south of West Hollywood (we’re betting Caruso didn’t want to deal with WeHo’s rent control). Units start at $4,500 a month, the Journal reports, and a two-bedroom, 1,300-square-foot unit on the seventh floor rents for $9,000. Then there’s that penthouse, fully furnished, that goes for, gulp, $40,000 a month. Satisfied with where you are now? Then maybe we shouldn’t tell you that Burton Way units come with an on-staff private trainer, a concierge, and a chauffeured limo if you need to make a run to the 7-Eleven.
